Line-in Recording?

Has anyone recorded directly from a home cd player to this unit and how is sound quality? Are you given the option to record in 160kb or higher?

Presuming your computer has a CD drive, you should use one of the many programs available that will rip a CD to mp3 or almost any other desired format.

Playing the CD in a player to get analog output that you then re-digitize will certainly give you lower-quality results than going directly from digital (CD) to digital (mp3 or whatever).

Added 20100612: It will also take a lot longer to go through analog, since it has to be done in real time.
