1 year warranty, as long as you didn't break it. If you do, your on your own.

Check Cowon's website just to be sure, and you can see if it is 1 year.

Sorry for the large bump... Does anyone know if Cowon requires a retailer's proof of purchase if you are using the warranty? (I am buying the S9 secondhand)

When submitting an RMA you're required to provide proof of purchase, I'm not sure how stringent they are on that.

Speaking of the warranty, I read something strange on another thread and figured I'd ask here again, given the nature of the discussion: if you buy your DAP overseas, is the warranty cancelled? I never read/heard anything like that until just recently.

That sounds like nonsense to me. Cowon has outlets in various countries, and they should honor the warranties of their products, no matter where they've been purchased.

Unfortunately such unfounded rumors tend to spread easily in forums...

Actually, to the extent of my knowledge, Cowon has very little to do with Europe (besides, perhaps, England) and I live in Ireland. I bought it off Amazon and it did have that blue warranty card in it. But I suppose it makes sense that the warranty should be valid, since I'm sure they do plenty of business in parts of the world where they aren't situated.

I sent some of my stuff a few times to Cowon Germany for repairs covered under warranty. They didn't care at all where I bought it.
