Default anybody recommend the Zune HD AV Dock?

Hi all,

I was thinking about buying the Zune HD AV Dock for my new HDTV. I saw on Amazon the price is lowered to $70 for Valentine's Day. Is it worth all the money? Or is it a piece of junk?

Thanks,

-McDougal

It works, and IMO is worth $70.

Thanks Olley for the reply. I have one question though. I was planning on ripping all of my DVDs to my Zune for storage but I noticed the convert options. The convert options were "Optimize for playback on Zune" or "Optimize for playback on HDTV". If I chose "Optimize for palyback on HDTV" would I still be able to watch the movie on my Zune's screen?

You can get the HD sync dock it is the same dock. Just doesn't come with the cables or a usb charger. Both are needed but you maybe be able to get them all for cheaper.

Yep. I had that option on at one time and one of the video podcasts I downloaded must have been 1080p, because it went through the conversion process and everything ended up playable. I don't have an AV dock, but I'm pretty sure that it can handle the bigger video size on the smaller screen--though it probably takes up more resources and ultimately shortens the battery life a bit, but if you're going to be using the AV dock, I say go for it.

If you get a good price for the dock, jump on it. It really adds functionality to the Z:HD, and TV out for the vids is a big selling point of the device (IMO).
