I just got an s9 (32gb) for christmas after a long line of ipods. I just need a bit of advice on what to do.
I'm looking for a program to sync music and video with the s9 and after trying all those i have used i can't solve my problems. What I want in the software is: 1. Album Art syncing (this is where songbird failed) 2. Play count scrobbling to last.fm 3. Video management It seems quite simple but nothing I have found can deal with it well. One of the problems is that most of my music is .m4a due to itunes (although a good portion is in .flac) and I am currently converting all of that to .ogg. Songbird is great at recognising them but it tries to add them to the cowon and just takes up space. If anyone here could advise me what to do it would be gratefully appreciated, thanks. |

WMP - couldn't read my files on pc
the supplied jetaudio thing - too fiddly and couldn't edit album art I am soon to try mediamonkey free but previous use has found it fiddly Currently on a strange bit of software that came with my bro's pspgo - its called Media Go and deals well with video and album art, although its slow to sync and i don't know about play counts - almost certainly no last.fm support. |

First impressions pleased with mediamonkey, especially the ability to ignore certain music files, all i need now is album art.

The least fiddly option is to drag your music folders from your computer to your S9 music folder and drop them there.

I'm looking for a way to register play counts with last.fm but a new problem has occured!!!
Mediamonkey wouldn't sync flac or ogg files and now when i transfer them manually, windows says that the player can't read them. What do i do? |

Once nice thing about the Cowon (and most other mp3 players except ipods), is that you don't need to sync. Just drag and drop. As for album art, if you're using Windows I would recommend mp3tag to tag your music. |

You have to set up the device profile under device options.
It's way at the bottom of the options list and tell MM that the S9 to reads those files. MM can automatically transcode if your player doesn't read a specific file. You'll have to dig a bit through the dialog box tabs, but, this is what's wrong. Make sure set this stuff up with the S9 connected to insure you have the profile available. |
