Default MTP and/or plug and play
Can someone confirm what transfer mode the x-fi 2 uses ?, I am guessing it is like MTP (like my zen vision m), I really want my next mp3 player to be drag and drop (usb mass storage device) but I could probably live with mtp again if I had to. Cheers.

I'm pretty sure it is a USB mass storage device. It shows up in Windows Explorer as two drives (the second one is for the mini SD card expansion) with drive letters unlike the ZVM which showed up down by Control Panel and had no drive letter.

You can drag and drop with an MTP player too. I think all Creatives are MTP...I know mine was.

yeah mtp is drag and drop, but it is so slow and it restricts the filetypes that you can load on to the mp3 player, or at least that how it works with my zen vision m

No, not all, remember the stone? It's MSC/UMS/USB

zen x-fi 2 specs here, but this sentance alone is enough to keep most away "... our first ever touchscreen player - the ZEN X-Fi2. No fussy buttons involved ..."

yeah i looked at the specs, it does not mention mtp or ums

My post was to point out to marvin that not all creatives are mtp. I threw in the specs link and didn't have time to look, you're right it doesn't say, so I assume it's only mtp.

The X-Fi2 is drag and drop and will appear as a FAT32 drive letter in Windows.

WMP auto sync seemm to work OK too.

So I tried using that old Zune Hack to turn this into a MTP player. Went to computer management but it didn't let me just came up with an error.
