Can you post a link of what kind of amp you guys are talking about. I also own the 555s and really like them.

I am going to get a fiio amp first.... as my first amp... I'll get a more xpensive amp when I but a sennheiser hd 650

Bump for a great topic, can't wait to read what you think of the PX-100 as I'm thinking of getting them to have a quality listen on the road and possibly to jog.

So far I have :

1. HD212 - good isolation, massive bass, mediums are badly "veiled", seems the EH-150 are better in that respect. They look pretty similar. Hurt my ears pretty quick too.

2. Audio Technica A900 - very balanced sound, coming from the HD212 they feel a bit low on bass.

so you wouldnt use 201s without an amp, but 202s are fine straight out of the jack? i have an S9 if that makes any difference.

I never tried mine with a Cowon player, but with Sansa Clip and Fuze the 201 really needed an amp. Your S9 has more power though, so it might be ok. Most who've heard both say the 202 is better sounding, and they do not need an amp.. I can't compare because I never had a 202.
