Comparison Database Accuracy

We are working on update the database adding new players and correcting inaccuracies. We are running into a few small hang ups on some of the players we are not so familiar with as far as spec accuracy.

If you have a player and are very familiar with it please take a look at the entry and check it for accuracy. Post the fix here and we will update it- we would really appreciate the help. http://www.anythingbutipod.com/compare

If you know of a lot of errors and would like to fix them in the admin panel- we can give you access.

Two brand we could really use some help on are the Archos and Samsungs/

It appears that the Cowon O2 is getting very little web space on ABI. The O2 is not listed as an option to be reviewed on this comparison.

Also, on the main page of ABI, for the Cowon players, the O2 is not in the jump list for the forums.

Could you see about adding those for us O2 users? I would appreciate it.

Some things I see for my two players.....

Samsung Q2 is a proprietary USB cable, not standard.
Q2 also has no camera, so I suspect has no video recording.
Q2 battery does not appear to be removable either.

Sony S540 does have a dedicated volume control.
S540 audio features...Dynamic Normalizer, Clear Stereo, Clear Bass, AVLS(volume limiter), and built-in speakers.

Looks good so far though!

The iriver P7 doesn't seem to be included. Here's their spec page.

My Archos 5 is black, not dark brown. Yes, there is one shot on Archos' site where it looks brown. My 32gb android version is black though.

And although this may be intentional, the choice of brands doesn't include:
Mintpass, Coby, Memorex, Jenson, Latte, GPX, and a few other brands that are often seen at every walgreens, walmart, k-mart, target, etc. The Mintpass is an amazing player from as upstart Korean company. The "low end" in almost every category is covered by the others listed, and many devices they sell are what millions buy simply because they CAN find one in their local discount store.

We will add these eventually, but right now are focused on the major brands.

I don't know if you limit the database to MSRP or not, but newegg has the 8gb iriver P7 for $180. That price makes it a bit more competitive than $200 - $250 does.

Hey, thanks Andreas! Cool site of yours that is. I know the Cowon O2 was not an oversight, but I did want it to get into the list of players. It really is a jam up player, despite the OS as some would say. I use mine every day.

A few minor corrections to the listing:

• It does handle bookmarking but probably not like any other player. From what I have seen, it handles them the best of any player before or since. The player remembers not only where you were on any item you were looking at (not pictures, though) and stores it is the "Recent Items" listing, it also stores it in the list in the order of which ones you were looking at. It also has a favorites menu. You can store anything in your favorites list.
  I have had over 25 items in the "Recent" file listing. I can resume play of any media in the list exactly where I left off. Cool!
• You could also point out that the stylus is also a stand for the player.

Other than that, it looks great! Thanks again.

The Sansa Fuze details states it cannot delete songs on the go, this is untrue. While song is playing, select Song Info button and go to Delete Song.
