Default Problem loading rockbox

Ok so i downloaded the zip for the sansa from rockbox and i only loaded the .mi4 file. Rockbox loads up and everything but when i plug it in to mess with it, my computer doesnt read it. So i have no way of loading new files into the root folder of the player. Any thoughts on how to fix this.

Do you intend to program for Rockbox or debug it?

Otherwise it's useless, not much is working at the moment: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/vie.../SansaE200Port

Rockbox currently starts on the e200 but with several quirks:

* No sound
* No wheel support. This makes it very difficult to navigate.
* Battery monitoring does not work (it constantly tells you the battery is empty)
* Rockbox does not respond to the USB being unplugged properly

Dude, Rockbox isn't bad, you are, you dumbass. Just ask your question once, please. It's been answered in other threads as well. Installing Rockbox for your own use was advised against, so who's fault is it when you do exactly what you were told not to? Please, use some common sense next time.

Matt

^^ I agree. Also sending personal messages to random people asking for help is not very smart either. A mod needs to clean up this subforum and send the appropriate warnings to these people. We have 3 threads discussion the exact same problem...

To fix this you have to put it in recovery mode.
* Power off
* Turn ON lock/hold
* Hold down record
* Hit Power/Menu Button
and put in the mi4 from the sandisk firmware.
hope this helps.

I hope by now this guy learns how to do it, lol. Sorry for getting worked up, that's not like me, but I had seen too many of those "how to remove rockbox?" posts so it just pushed me over the edge.

Haha, no need to apologize. I think you said what most of us are thinking.

Apparently, bold red letters underneath categories just don't grab people's attention like it used to...
