I don't understand your question... the quote you have answers the whole of the Rockbox-related portion of it. As dan said, no WMA support, and if there ever is, it won't include DRM'ed ones. Converting them has nothing to do with Rockbox.

I was wondering if not supporting DRM was an absolute with Rockbox or something that would be developed later after the WMA was supported.

It's unlikely that there will ever be DRM support, for technical reasons.

That's DRM

That may or may not indicate a DRM'd track. At the moment, PlaysForSure tracks don't play on Rockbox.

Nope, Plays for Sure is NOT the same as DRM..

Plays for sure is an interface for Windows. It's a compatability thing. Basically, if your player is "Plays for Sure" compatible, it will work with Windows Media Player 10, 11, and others.. and also it will work with Windows Explorer (in a drag-and-drop type mode).. It is not directly related to DRM.. Read about it here:

Is't PlaysForSure just one sort or DRM? (PlaysForSure is DRM like sansa e200 is MP3 Player)?

PlaysForSure is MTP plus a specific breed of DRM wrapped WMA track, as well as non-DRM WMA tracks. They make it up to sound like a lot more, but really, when it comes to Digital Audio Players, it means "This player works with Windows Media Player, and supports the DRM used by Napster and various other music rental services."

Rockbox is not, nor will it ever be, PlaysForSure, as Rockbox will never be an MTP device, at the minimum.

well when rockbox comes out if u cant use drm'd files
you can convert them with tunebite or you could remove the drm with fu4wm (fu4wm is lossless and faster but it might not work for you...)
fu4wm works only if you have wmp 9-11 beta 2
and it doesnt work with wmp new ibx update but the forum link in my sig shows how to rollback and undrm any wma files (sry its a large forum topic and i dont remember where it says about rolling back wmp...but its somewhere above pg20 i think)

DRM is part of Playsforsure.. It's also a way of making MP3 players compatible, in general, with many Playsforsure software..
