Zii's SQ versus Apple's Ipod Touch

How does the Zii's sound quality compare to that of the Apple Ipod's Touch.

I have heard people say that the SQ of the Zii is crap and is this true.

Also does the Zii drive quality headphones well ?

My Zii sounds better than my Touch, although the Zii's software is very immature. Both drive my Sennhieser HD595s fine.

the headphones it comes with are awful. you have to get a decent pair of headphones to hear how good the quality is. I had an x-fi 32gb and thought that sounded better than the ipod touch. with the same headphones, the egg sounds better than the x-fi. flac sounds amazing, standard mp3 the difference is barely noticeable. they also have not added the x-fi processing to this yet, so it should sound even better when they do.

I've got both a 1st gen (no volume buttons or speaker) and a 2nd gen (volume buttons and a speaker).

You will find that most of the standard stock headphones that come with MP3 players are average, this is why I prefer to choose my own sort.
