How does one re-insert the ribbon cable from the front panel of a Fuze into the connector on the logic board (PCB)? It seems to be a task for somebody with three or four extremely small hands.
![]() If there's a method for a person with the average number and size hands to do it, please describe said method as fully as possible! BTW, I only had a little bit of difficulty inserting the ribbon cable from an LCD into its connector on the logic board. In that case, though, I can hold the cable with my fingers while jiggling it into the connector, something I can't do with the front-panel connector. |

I used a long pair of tweezers to push it in.

I don't know about the specific ribbon cable you're talking about, but there is often a little clip that can be pulled up from the socket. When the clip is pulled out the ribbon is easy to insert, then you push the clip back in.

The problem is to guide the ribbon into the slot while the ribbon is attached to the front panel. Since I already have 3 Fuzes that are ready to have their front panel reattached, I'm going to have to experiment with various ways of doing it. One way I'm going to try is taping the back of the Fuze to a fixed surface using double-sided adhesive tape so that I can have one hand on the front panel and the other holding a tweezer with which to guide the ribbon. (Sad to say, I have only two hands. So much for Intelligent Design!
