1) Universal remote control software, or at least a remote for Windows Media Center. For 7MC, it could even be a sideshow device. After all, as I understand it the Zune team is in the same group as the ehome group that handles Media Center. Would it be too much to ask for some interoperability within a couple of MS's best products that not many people use?

For the universal remote functionality you'd have to have some kind of IR blaster to work tied to ethernet, so if it's coming from internal MS teams I would assume that might be a bit hard to do. So I'd be OK at first with a MC remote Or maybe 7MC could function as the bridging device on the network and work with one of the blasters that used to be supplied with the MS certified media center remotes

2) Xbox Live app that would allow for messaging, achievement views, queuing of downloads, etc. Again working within the same division at MS I believe...

3) Workout tracker/timer. Ideally would work with music playback to do interval timing.

4) This is not likely an app, but I'd like some playback speed control (with tone adjustment) to allow for faster playback or slower playback (like Windows Media Player does). Good for podcast/audiobook playback. Ipods and some other players have this already...

Live anywhere (access to Live friends list and messages) and a version of Microsoft Reader would be nice. It'd even allow you to add a book store to the Zune Marketplace.

Huuuuge +1 from me. They both seem reasonable/not too complicated to but together.

What about silverlight? I would prefer it then we could have netflix, but thats just me. I am willing to bet my hat that sliverlight will come to the Zune HD way before flash does. Also I would like an app that allows me to have a complex cooking timer, I had one on my palm way back in 2005. It allowed me to set multiple timers and instructions to follow after each timer. I loved it for making my grandmothers complex and tasty recipes.

I believe that would require additional equipment. I think a mic/speaker accessory would be awesome, I would love the ability to make simple voice recordings. So I guess this is a app/accessory request, should we start a new thread?

The Zune HD does not have a mic, or the ability that I know of to add one via the headphone jack.

Email client:I had an ipod touch and loved the email client. it was great checking my email in the morning before i went to work or class and at a local wi fi hotspot without having to pull out my laptop. Just a nice feature for me.

Youtube: but i never used it that much. Still it was good.

I think someone said facebook was coming and i am sure it is

An IM client: I talk to people on both msn and aim so a universal one sounds nice. Like IM+ from itunes app store.

So far i would like to see some more games from developers. mainly 3rd party if MS will allow them too. Dont want that tegra to go to waist on one dev. no offense to MS but many developers use technology in their ow unique way.

1. Shoutcast support(internet radio in general)-Flash
2. Apps without adds(I won't download apps with commercials that last 30 seconds-I'll pay for the apps if there reasonable. But NO advertisements)
3. Worpad?
4. This is asking a little much but google voice? You would have to buy a mic of course
