Replacing the P2 battery?

I'm wondering if anyone has ever attempted at replacing the battery in the P2 with another P2 battery. How easy is it to replace it, and can I use a battery from lets say, a 16gb P2 for my 4gb one? All answers are greatly appreciated

you can look up guides on how to open your p2 on youtube, thats pretty straight forward, but finding the same or similar battery would be a little harder. You'd have to look online for a good replacement.

I plan on getting a for parts P2 off eBay, hence why I was asking if a 16gb battery would work in the 4gb. I saw that video on youtube and that got me thinking whether removing the touch screen is absolutely necessary as I don't want to get fingerprints and dust there.

you dont need to remove the front, i was able to remove the screw on the back and unclipped the back casing off. i could imagine a 16gb battery having the same specs as the 4GB one. Make sure though.

I just checked the spec sheet in the service manual and the batteries in all P2s are the same

My battery crapped out on me, so I was desperate to find a battery but couldn't find one so i bought this one: http://tigerdirect.partsearch.com/Mo...Batteries.aspx .

The plug actually fit but the battery is smaller, but a little bigger:

That's a great find but there's one problem, I live in Canada and they only ship to the US.

Hey I'm also facing this problem, I need to replace my battery can anyone tell me where to buy the specific battery and how to install it in my P2? Or can I just mail it to Samsung and they'll fix my problem for me?

you can't replace the battery with anything but a P2 battery. There's a circuit inside is that prevents counterfeiting. Not to mention the battery is glued down inside and since it's li-ion it's soft shell. Doubt you will be able to get it out without puncturing it and and harming yourself.
