For me it takes 3~4 seconds to start up. Have you formatted and reinstalled the firmware yet? It might work and speed up you S9.

Macs will mess up the file allocation table. Reformat your S9 (from a PC), then reinstall media. One long start-up for it to find media and rebuild the database, then it should be back to normal for you.

do i loose the actual Firmware and Claws uci i use at the moment? or do i only have to put all the music on the player again?
with reformat you mean to formate the player by right click with the mouse and then formating right? |

When formatting you loose all your music, videos, UCIs, etc. Make a backup of it before formatting. I'm not sure you can use the windows format, haven't formatted my S9 yet.
there's another thread about format and stuff: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...ghlight=format Or: http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...2&postcount=27

may be wrong about thus but in my case when i first got my hand on cowon i got it wiith 3 gb files. However the startup times started to get slower the more files i transferred and eventually it took the cowon around 8-9 seconds to start the cowon. when i delete the files it only took 2-3 seconds for the startup time
