Default Sonic Stage Crash

I have read lots about how bad Sonicsatge is. I totally agree however I have recently been compleyely unable to use my 30Gb Atrac AD Mp3 player when I want to scan for newly added items to add into the library I get this crash message

The instruction at "0x7c168f1d" referenced memory at "0x0000001c". The memory could not be "read".

And the program stops. I reinstalled Sonicstage but no joy.

ANyone else had this problem and managed to solve it? I really dont want to throw the Mp3 player away...

You may have to try to manually remove all Sony registry entries too.
