creating playlists using sony media manager?

I have the 16 gb X series and on the whole i love it. Glad to finally see the back of sonic stage too...

I may be being incredibly thick here, but i cannot seem to create playlists using media manager. I have tried but there doesnt seem to be a way?

Also the instruction book doesnt tell me either. Can you help??
