Zen 32 Frozen, Recovery Tool jams, how do I format?

My creative 32gb zen has been solid for just over a year (no warranty now!). It used to freeze occasionally but I would simply use the reset button, it would re-build whilst plugged into my PC and I would be happy once more.

However yesterday it froze once more. I reset it and it rebuilt as ever, however once it rebuilds it remains frozen. Or sometimes you can go into menus but it won't play.

Any ideas? Is it a goner?

I have everything backed up but don't know how to format my zen completely.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Charge the player first. To start the player to the recovery mode(press down & hold pause /play button while powering the player on. Continue to hold pause /play button after releasing power switch) Should come on at the recovery screen. Choose Format >Cleanup>reboot.
