Default converting mpegs

bit of a noob question I assume, but I am the-uselessnoob. I recently found out that quite a bit of my music is in mpeg perhaps? how do I convert these to something that my s9 can play? and what should I convert it to? I am going for good sound quality and don't really care about space.

edit: also a lot of them are aac, they are at 128kbps, so would a conversion to mp3 really hurt it? or is there anything that it would be better to convert it to for sound quality purposes?

You can try MediaMonkey, a great music organizer with many great convenient features. Convert them to about 256 or 'near CD quality' (or higher if your wish) and you are good to go.
