I never used the crossroad mylarone cause for me my cx 300 were far superior...but today following dftk instructions i recabled them...and what the heck i have the feeling that now they sound much better...Am i having hallucinations or is there a reason?

What cable did u use? (The one from DX?)

dftk; the 4$ headphone donor cable u used, is it still soft and dandy?

If anyone has ordered/tried more than one IEM for cable donation from DX, which one are you most satisfied with? =)

Long story short, I visited my parents this weekend, who recently got a new kitten. Kitty chomped the cable on my Hippo VBs. My father, the steady hand that he is, patched things up pretty well and they sound as good as ever. I now have another pair on the way from Jaben so I'm covered, but my concern is that the patch will eventually wear out on Ol' Faithful and I'll be bummed nonetheless.

Any suggestions/links/threads for recabling options if things get crunchy? I don't have a practiced hand so I'm more interested in "send them away" options, but if the process is pretty straightforward then Dad would probably enjoy helping out.

There are a few small business that recable iem’s and headphones but they charge an arm and a leg, every expensive. If you can’t find someone that’s reasonable it might be the perfect opportunity for you to follow the tutorial and learn how to DIY.
