need to factory reset, need password

I really need help I bought this archos 5 from ebay.. it had content on it and i just want to factory restore it... but it asks me for a password! i cant even put any new content on the hard drive cuz it tells me the same thing that i need a password... i tried to contact both the seller and archos none answer ... before i file an ebay report can someone tell me what i need to do to make this thing go back to factory setting. please help... thanks for any and all info on this mater
