Default Rockbox port.

I'm once again taking the challenge to port Rockbox to the P2. Stay up-to-date with the P2 port thread at Rockbox.org or hang around on the Rockbox IRC to watch me ask for help every few minutes.

Please remember that I do not owe anyone anything, so don't rush me; I will do my best but only whenever I feel like it. This isn't the only I have to do, and unfortunately for all of us, there are only 24 hours per day, with an average of 8 hours per day dedicated to sleep.

Thanks for your interest, if any!

If anyone wants to help, please leave a message here or at the RB forums to tell me what you can do.

Very good idea! Take your time, no problem, we all know how difficult the port of Rockbox is. Surely the reason why, although there are so many P2 owners on webforums, nobody already dit it at the moment.
If I well understood, the work that has been made for the Cowon D2 could be very useful for the P2

Unfortunately a rockbox ports needs lots more than testing, but that is quite good
If he is alone with coding this will be very difficult, especially without the help of Rockbox experts.
With my moderators roles, the tests of mp3 players and my studies I don't have much time for that but I hope some people are ready to help Soaa with the development

Thanks for your help offers, but since I already have a P2, I don't really need external testing unless certain behavior seems to vary from device to device.

I'm still working on getting that damned LCD to work, by the way. (:

I really doubt you found a 990MB file packed in a the RSC (which I think is just interface related code if it's the same as the K3). If my memory serves me correctly the RSC is only 30 or so MB. No amount of compression would would make it fit in there.

Now that I think about it there might be some LCD related info in the decompiled RSC, but Soaa already figured out the LCD mostly.(apart from a greenish tinge)
