Another question about my new p3. I am just copying and pasting this from a post from the p2 forum.
>>>>>>>>> I'm sure this has been covered but I'm not finding it in the search for some reason. What genre do I use to get a mp3 file to auto resume. I've tried podcast, audiobook, and datacast. I want to be able to switch to a different mp3 and then go back to the audiobook or mp3 and have it in the same position as when I exited the file. Do I manually have to put them in the datacast folder? <<<<<<<<<<<< If this is carrying forward to the p3 than this is really annoying, many podcasts (datacasts) are quite long, i cannot comprehend why there is no bookmark support for this. Yet they allow up to 100 bookmarks for movies? Anyone know a work around or answer to this.? |

I'd also like to know if there's an answer for this. As far as I can see, there isn't - which is a really glaring omission.
The behaviour seems to be that any audio track will auto-resume UNLESS you play another audio track in the meantime - whether music, datacast or audiobook. How are you supposed to listen to audiobooks without bookmarks? |

Yes, very frustrating indeed, I'm going on a big holiday right away and this would definitely be useful on the plane etc...(shuffling between music and podcasts) It just seems like such a simple feature that should be integrated into the player. I guess I will have to record what times my pcasts/abooks are at on the memo pad or someting..brutal!!. Doing research I don't think you could bookmark on the P2 either. With Podcasts and audiobooks as popular as they are you would think they would be right on top of this. Hopefully the next firmware addresses this.
If anyone has any suggestions please post.... |

I was wondering this too. It was a feature i was used to with my old iPod, so when i first got a P2, i was sad to see it gone. I would think it would have something to do with the tags.

I think it's something they'll tackle in future firmwares..does seem an unfortunate omission.

This was something I hoped they would've tackled during the P2 firmwares, a long time ago. They've listened to us before, hopefully they'll listen to us now.

I have just bought an YP-P3 32 GB with a Firmware 1.28 EU (touch 6.C) whatever this means ...
anyway I love this player ... but I hate not having bookmarks to use for audio books (i.e. listen to an mp3, set a bookmark, listen to another mp3, some day after be able to listen to the bookmarked mp3 starting from the bookmarked position). I hope they will add this feature in future. It would be really perfect to have this feature. It would be even better to have a color "highlighting" feature for the file name when a bookmark has been set in it (I think of an audio book split in more mp3 files ... even if you have a bookmark in a file .. you still would have to remember which chapter/file you were listening to ....... i.e. in which file the bookmark is) |
