If you don't want to download illegal tunes from P2P networks, and don't want to be restricted by protected music that won't play everywhere:

1) you can rip music from your own CDs. Max seems to be a very good CD ripping program for OS X. It's free software.

2) you can use legal music download services like or Both work without any restrictions, AFAIK. And, no, you can't use iTunes. It will only work with the iPod.

With the Vibez you don't need any program to load music onto it. It acts like an external hard disk - you just drag'n'drop music onto it from Finder.
