under $250 what mp3 player should i get?

I have around 250 dollars to spend on an mp3 player and nice set of headphones.
I'd prefer to spend less.
I need something with great sound quality (same with headphones)
Preferably 16gb and up
If anyone can help me that'd be great.
I hate ipods.

I hate to be rude, but we really need some more information. Many if not all of the 16 gb MP3 players are less than $250.

Some basics...
Do you want to watch videos too?
Are you using Windows, do you plan to use music management software or would you prefer to access the MP3 player like a flash drive?
Do you want a basic player or one with a bunch of bells and whistles? I'm talking about Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, games/programs, touch screen, etc.
Headphones can get expensive quickly, do you have a cap on how much you'd spend on the phones alone?

Video playback is nice but not necessary.
Yes, I am using windows. I would prefer to access it as a flash drive, seeing as I hate ipods and their proprietary itunes.
games/programs/wifi etc. I really dont want. I dont want it clogged up woth useless crap.
TOuchscreen, dont care.
headphones, no just need a pair to go along with it, so reccommend some high quality ones and i'll save up if i have to.

It's hard to go wrong with the Fuze (plus an 8 or 16 gb microSDHC card). The D2+ is also suppose to be very good. People who own both say that if you're going to use an EQ or music enhancements the D2 is better in terms of sound quality, but if you leave the EQ off the Fuze is just as good.

Fuze + 16 gb microSDHC card from Amazon should run you about $140.

I haven't used enough high-end headphones to give any recommendations. I'm using the ones that came with my Zen X-Fi, to me they sound great!

Right, I'm using B&H and best buy to get prices here, so bear with me.(the prices would probably be a fair bit cheaper on Amazon for example)
The 8GB fuze is $100, so that leaves $150 for a card and 'phones.
an 8gb Micro SD card costs another $50ish, so that leaves $100 for headphones.
If you want earphones, then for $100 there's all the ones in the top ofthis list.

Monster Turbines aren't the Dr. Dre branded iem's, those are a different set. And for a dap, I'd vote for the D2/D2+. Better sq than a fuze, goes to 16gb, expandable w/sdHC cards, 52hr battery life for audio, all around powerhouse when it comes to headphone output (37mw per channel). Try it, you'll like it!!!

Monster made their own pairs apart from Dr Dre's. I got mine for $99 but now the price at futureshop is $179 But you can get it cheaper online for like $149 and maybe lower

ipod touch.

BUT
I bought it form a friend who needed the money, so i didnt support apple
I jailbroke it
I use winamp not itunes

Sound quality's pretty good, not great mind you, but good. It doesnt have a customizable EQ, only presets, which bugs me.
