Would mini BT keyboard be compatible with the Samsung OmniaHD? I was just wondering, because I really liked the Nokia N97s sliding QWERTY keyboard, but preferred the OmniaHD overall, despite it's lack of a physical keyboard. Being able to use a mini keyboard via BT would be an added bonus

How about asking the carrier that the phone is on for info, or contacting Samsung directly? This way you could give us the 411.

The OmniaHD uses Symbian right?
Maybe you could use the Nokia wireless keyboard. Or, maybe any bluetooth keyboard? http://prstat.blogspot.com/2008/01/n...-keyboard.html |

I hate to do two posts in a row, but this way is probably best.
First, the OmniaHD is indeed a Symbian based phone. Samsung has their own UI, but the Symbian UI is easy enough to get to. For those that haven't seen this bad boy this is a good review from one of my old favorite web shows: . Good god does that thing look cool! Regarding whether a keyboard will work or not. In the above review there is a "Quickoffice" icon. Quickoffice is a program that lets you read office documents, I think it lets you create/edit documents too. Also, as I found out from the links above the "Wireless Keyboard" app is all you need to connect to a bluetooth keyboard on Nokia phones. Based on the fact that it has Quickoffice and that the Wireless Keyboard app is on so many Nokia phones I bet it's safe to assume that you can use a wireless keyboard. More... #9 on this page says that you can use the wireless keyboard application intended for Symbian S60 3rd edition with the 5th edition. Last edited by Hirudin; 06-10-2009 at 05:43 AM. |
