If you have the right firmware, and the volume is at max, and you've checked you EQ, you might want to upgrade your headphones. On top of that, maybe a portable headphone amp like the FiiO E5 is in order. good luck

Default Volume increase

I found that running my music thru MP3GAIN set at 102 dB makes it plenty loud enough for me. I don't know the techs of it, but it works! I use both wired buds and bluetooth, and it really helps when using bluetooth on my P2. Give it a try...

The problem w/using MP3Gain is that boosting the decibel level to a very high level causes clipping, and distorts the music. I really wouldn't recommend this myself.

^ doesnt EU have a volume limit law? maybe thats why..??..

I turn on my P2 to volume 13 and it hurts my ears.. its weird that 30 is not that audible.

If the noise is so loud you need your player louder to overcome it, then it's time to either get some noise-cancelling headphone, or simply shut the player down until you get to a quieter place. The EU have a law restricting how loud players can go as loud music leads to hearing loss.

dont increase the volume, get IEM earphones so you block out natural background noise. It makes a hell of a difference.

If you use IEM's, volume over 25 will most likely blow your earphones as well as your ear drums.
