How do you take the battery out of the Home AV remote?

When I open the slide, about 3/4 of the battery is exposed, so I suspect that the battery is supposed to pop up--but mine doesn't.

How can I remove the battery?

Yea, mine only opens about 3/4 of the way. I've always just figured when I do have to replace it I'll have to pry it out carefully with a small screwdriver.

Hmmm, that's a bummer. I've seen this type of setup before, but they had a small flat spring which popped up the battery for easy removal. I guess when the battery is dead we can afford to get a little aggressive--not having to worry about damaging the battery.
