Default How can I remove SansaDispatch from my PC?

I ran the Sansa Updater yesterday to do the Fuze firmware update. Now there is a SansaUpdate folder on my hard drive with some .exe programs including SansaDispatch.exe. I tried deleting the programs but I can't delete SansaDispatch.exe. I went into the Add or Remove Programs of my Control Panel and SansaDispatch.exe doesn't show up as a program I can remove. How can I remove this bugger?

I don't know....but this kinda validates the school of thought that says only do the updates manually.

Never ever install those junk apps from Sandisk, avoid them like the plague. I've hardly ever seen anything worse this side of viruses/trojans. Well, maybe Samsung/Emodio and Creative are as bad...

Kill the process with the task manager, Spybot, or similar tools, uninstall anything that resembles Sansa from the control panel, then delete the whole folder from your HDD.

This was my first firmware update and I didn't know how to do a manual update. I will read about it for next time.

I went here: http://www.file.net/process/sansadispatch.exe.html

but I still don't see how to remove the dispatcher. When I click the Click to Run a Free Scan for SansaDispatch.exe related errors it wants to install registerybooster.exe. I would rather not install any more exe files. Is that the only way to get rid of dispatch? Do I need to ask Sansa what to do?

Did you go to add/remove programs? If not, try that first.

Otherwise do as dfkt said.

I went into the Add or Remove Programs of my Control Panel and SansaDispatch.exe doesn't show up as a program I can remove. I went to the first link dfkt gave but don't understand what to do there.

Ah yes, that's it - my Windows is German, not English, always hard to get the point across.

The link was just to show you that others are aware of those awful apps, nothing more. Don't use the app they suggest.

Remove the Sansa Updater (or whatever it's called) via add/remove programs, then the sansadispatcher.exe will be killed as well.

Thanks but I went to add/remove programs and nothing at all shows up for Sansa. No updater or dispatcher.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the task manager. Find the sansa app under the processes tab, right click and 'end process tree'. Then delete the exe files from your hard drive.

I'm left with Emodio on my hard-drive... EnzoTen confirms that it leaves behind some un-installable Drm package.

I have no idea what Emodio has to do with this thread, but the same rules apply - kill processes, delete what is to delete, clean the registry - manually, if nothing else helps.

If you can't uninstall it, file a class action lawsuit.

Back on topic, Sansa malware - not Emodio.

I went to my Start menu and found this like someone at the sandisk message board said:

Start > Programs > Sandisk > Sansa Updater > Uninstall

I ran the Uninstaller and the programs are gone now. So Sansa does give you an easy way to remove these programs. I do not see Emodio running as a process on my task manager. I think my pc is clean now. Thanks for the help!
