Default What happened to AMOLED?

I've just been looking at the NWZ1060B as it's on my shortlist for a new player and I seem to remember AMOLED being mentioned before with the X1000 series.
Now it's got a OLED screen so I was wondering what actually happened cos I don't seem to be able to see anything anywhere explaining the lack of an AMOLED screen or the decision to change it.

Nothing changed. AMOLED = AM + OLED. AM (active matrix) is not the screen, but simply the technique used to activate the individual pixels. Sony has an OLED screen TV, and is behind OLED technology development. I'm sure they just think more people appreciate/understand OLED without the AM in from of it. Your still getting what will be a beautiful screen.

thanks, it was bugging me for a while cos I remember when information first started coming out there was a lot of speculation on how it would perform against the oled screen of the s9 and the screen of other players. Made me think there was something strange going on.
