best to let it dry as much as possible before trying to use it.
i don't know what hair protector is.
is it alcohol based? does it dry fast?
for water based stuff take the case off and let it dry. trying to turn it on before this is what kills

frimframsauce is correct. You may also want to clean it off as much as possible with a damp rag (water).

You'll have to excuse my humor but if you saw the various threads over the last several years … first we had a member with pasta stuck in his reset button, another that fell into pasta sauce, then one in soup, not to mention the numerous ones that have fallen into the toilet or washed with the clothes in washing machine. And now one with hair protector liquid spray in it … how the heck did you manage this?

I loled
My NW-E107 only's got a girl nail scrath over the plastic screen, and the sprayed colour is decaying a bit cause it was picking a bit of damp over the long time of use. Still alive =)

So I'm taking precautions now with the NWZ-E436. I'm getting a bag case for it.... The joke is, I haven't opened the package of the player yet =D

Did anyone respond with info on how to open up the case? My NW-A1200 has a defect which requires me to temporarily disconnect the battery to fix, or so I was told. Problem is how to get the darn case apare without destroying it. Any info appreciated.

If letting it air dry doesn't work, you might try soaking it in
alcohol and then drying it. You can get 90% alcohol for a bit
more than the standard 70% stuff - it will dry faster.

It is flammable, so be careful to use it away from ignition
sources (like heaters & hair driers).

Let us know how it turns out.
