Some Zork and Myst games were really tough to beat - but worth playing.

Ninja Gaiden on the original Nintendo. You can download it on the Wii but you have infinity continues. On the nes you only had 3 lifes to win the whole game.

That stupid ET game from the Atari. I played that for 2 hours but never got out of those stupid holes he kept falling in. GRR!!! The Difficulty of this game was not the enemies, or the confusing nature, but the fact that you fell in invisible holes every 2 seconds and had to spend 3 hours getting out. Very short game, but it will make you lock your Atari away and never turn it on again. Even in this decent speed run, the guy falls down holes a bunch. And yes. I've played this game.

Return to Zork really pissed me off as a kid, haha. So many dumb little things to get you killed. If you read a walk through though, it makes you feel like an idiot...

The Atari E.T. game hasn't been voted the worst game of all time for nothing.

I still have a copy of it.. I think the fact that those copies are still in the United States is the reason for our current financial downfall.

Oh and that game is older than I am!! 8 years, to be precise. The fact I was able to get a copy when I was 4 is like, woot... that was 12 years after it came out and failed.. I'm gonna burn it and see if the unemployment rate drops.

I think a better question would be Games that you found Hard, that you still enjoyed playing? I mean there are a buncha games out there that are stupidly hard, and not worth the effort. Congradulations you annoyed people out of playing your games! :P Games that are hard, but fun to play are so much more intresting to talk about anyway...

Ninja Gaiden for the xBox a.k.a Ninja Gaiden Black/Sigma was a game that was pretty hard to master, but fun nonetheless.

Commando's (origional) was also fairly hard for me at the time, but rewarding.

Ghosts and Goblins without a doubt.

Original Metal Gear on the NES wasn't tough so to speak, but got stuck on the super computer room before the final boss and never figured out how to get past it. That's always done my head in...

The difficulty is why love Megaman X. Contra for the NES was hard for me but still enjoyable.

I found getting every unlockable cheat for Goldeneye 007(N64) was VERY hard but amazingly rewarding and fun. I love every aspect of that game.

They really need to take the exact game from 1997, update the textures, physics, and resolution, and release it. No other changes. No plot changes, no level changes, and no gameplay changes(except physics).

I would buy the system it is released on just for that game.
