Iriver Clix Functionality missing

There are 2 aspects of my Clix that seem to no longer work. One is the auto-shut off -- I wake up the next morning and my player is dead. I have it on 30 second auto shut off so if I pause it, it will eventually turn off. The second thing is the back-light - it stays lit all the time now which is a huge power drain. How can I remedy these problems? Please help.
