Help inear phones for D2-$50 range

I am thinking od selling my creative ep-630 for 10$ and upgrade to around 50$ in ear phones.

The ep-630 were good when paired to my HI-fi system but with D2 they hiss. The frequency interference is higher which is bad. I am not sure if the interference is coming with hiss or one frequency is interfering with other but the experience was bad. On the other hand PX100 were good.

After reading a lot, i think this is common for low impedance phones with D2 and the solutions proposed are (impedance adapter, amp so on). Instead of buying an impedance adapter, i felt upgrading to a high impedance phone would be a better choice.

The options are too little. almost all the well known ln ear models in the economy range have a low impedance usually 16 ohms. The Jays seems to be manufacturing some high impedance rating phones.

How are s-jays coupled with D2. Is the Bass-heavyness goes to the extent of becoming a problem?. How are the highs. I heard that the mids are decent but not much on highs. Are they loud enough with D2. I listen at vol 25 on d2 with px100 which are 32 ohms phones. so with 69 ohms phones do i need to have full volume? having full volume is bad because it drains out battery too fast.

please suggest alternatives also.

75 views and not atleast one recommendation . Hey headphone experts please help me out.

Another thing although not an IEM how is yuin PK3/OK3 performance with cowonD2?

something of >= Px100 quality is fine with me. The ep-630 with cowon d2 is like listening to old cassette walkman.

marvinthemartin. You seem to use earbuds. what earbuds do you prefer. Yuin pk3 has nice reviews. but i will not be able to get them to india. How is sennheiser MX760?

i could not find any IEM with atleast 32ohms impedence in the 50$ range. Please give me some recomendations.

DFKT has reviwed s-jays but i would like to know how they perform with cowon D2. It seems they are treble shy. i am not a bass head. decent bass with nice clarity is always prefered to me.

many people here have great idea of the various possibilities. looking for suggessions. please reply.

I like the JVC fx66, Sennheiser CX400, and have been hearing good things about the Sound Magic PL-30. I never tried the pl-30 so I would go with the senns.

they are all low impedence cans. Do they sound nice with cowon d2. i tried ep-630 which was good when pluged to a hi-fi system, but below average when connected to D2. The trouble is in finding a high impedance IEM in $50 range.

No, actually, I don't use earbuds either.
I have clip-ons, which sit on the outside of the ear with a clip that curves around the back of the earlobe(Koss KSC75).....

I have one set of supra-aural Sony MDR-V150, which are over the head and rest on the outside of the ear......

and I have circumaural, which completely encircle the outer ear with an over-the-head-band....Sennheiser HD201, and Panasonic RP-HTX7's are coming.

Their impedence rating is 12 OHMS. So dont they suffer roll off, hiss and frequency interference as like ep-630?

I have worn the 201's 8 or 9 hours in a day before. They're comfortable to wear, I have found, but the key to extended listening is reasonable volume levels.

These are a closed back design, so I don't have to crank the volume to hear my songs. Here and there I will turn a great song up loud and rock out, but I always turn it back down after.

They're not very suited for portable use, however, they have a 10 foot cord. But you have PX100's which are portable, too. There is no hiss with these phones, either.

From what I understand though, a lot of people would think the PX100 sounds better than these. But these are usually cheaper, although I don't know what they would cost in your country.

Get a Sound Magic PL-30! They cost only $21.95 and have great sound quality! There's a review over in the reviews section. Also read all the opinions in this thread and you'll be sold.

information regarding the phones you mentioned are almost all around the net. Google is your best friend. And iaudiophile will give you a fairly good impression of whether or not they go well with your d2. After all, cowon players won't have too large of a difference among each other in terms of sound quality.

Well apparently dfkt uses a D2, and this is his list of IEMs, you can have a look and make some comparisons. I'm not sure whether or not his views on the IEMs are before or after pairing them with amps, but it should be a good guideline to start off with.

Have fun searching.

My personal recomendation would be the JVC MARSHMALLOW's. I don't know much about mid-range in-ear phones, but I do know that they sound as good or better than SkullCandy's.

I've been using JVC marshmallows for over 2 years now with an insignia player. Good sounding for the price!
