Messed up joystick controls? (U3)

Hey all,

I've had a Cowon iAudio U3 for just about 11 months, and I've been having a problem with the joystick. The problem started around November, and has been fluctuating between getting worse and better. The problem is that it won't go "down". I can go right, left, up, or click, but I can't go down. This obviously poses a problem since I can't turn down the volume. I'm wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with a problem like this, and what the solution was (if any)? I can open it up if needed, but I really just want to fix it up.

I am posting this in general discussion because I'm presuming that other joystick-controlled MP3 players have this problem as well.
