Is it possible to plug SE in MSC mode just by holding "-" button on the device down??
This is a copy/paste from sansa forum: "5. Press and hold the (-) volume button while plugging in device to PC. This took me a couple of tries, but eventually it connects with a drive letter instead of the "Sansa Express"." http://forums.sandisk.com/sansa/boar...thread.id=1143 Sound like MSC? I have removed MTP so haven't tried this. Edit: OK, tried this. For me, no driver letter became accessible, even if this "recovery mode" device was accessible from Device manager. Sorry if bothering for nothing. |

Why would I wish to "force MSC mode on XP with WMP 10"? I've read all the posts herein, but still don't understand why this would be a good thing to do. Please advise.

Grant johnson, because some Windows XP somehow got corrupted MTP drivers and will not work right. Plus MTP mode in XP is buggy and very limited at times for drag and drop.
