Ive been sketching out some ideas to create a case for the p2.

Still in the early stages
If you guys have any suggestions or ideas, let me know so i can try it out!

Or if you seen a case for a different mp3 player u wished for the p2, post some links to that.

Ill try to post up some WIP models by the end of next week?

What are you planning on making it with? Are you making a hard case or a soft case?

I recommend the soft case because it's easier to make, and more durable. If thick enough, it should also provide decent protection against drops.

Make sure you know how to sew. And then, the possibilities are endless.

You can always try making one from a tin and line the inside with foam. I made one like that for my wife's e260, looks like:

Sheet metal would be your best bet then, if you don't have equipment for vacuum forming plastic.

Well elaborate on what you have in mind. Plastic parts need molding of some kind, but metal can be bent into shape. Unless you want to sculpt it out of wood?

The back of the P2 is sheet metal.

This is what I did for my D2. http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum...t=construction It would probably fit the P2, but you may want to check out the dimensions. I know it will fit a Creative Zen and comes close (but not quite) to fitting a Creative Zen Vision M 30gb. With the D2 there is close to 1" of room left over at the top when closed.

anyways, thats a good idea. also, sheet metal can be found in ANY hardware store. It's just metal thats more bendy and thinner than regular metal.
