Default Very slow track changes using FLAC

I have noticed that it takes my 8GB D2 longer than usual to load FLAC tracks, especially when skipping to the next track (its like 30 to 45 sec). I have about 7GB of FLAC on the internal memory and about 8GB of MP3 files on a 16GB external card (class 6 SDHC). I tried formating both card and player with the Panasonic tool, defragging, and moving the FLAC files between the card and player...but it is still slow when changing tracks (even slower if going from FLAC to MP3 or vice versa). I am using the 3.57
firmware with no flash skin. Any suggestions to speed it up?

TIA

My suggestion would be to reload the firmware. Because it takes my D2 less than a second to load Flac files. 30 to 45 seconds is rediculous. Are you using any Custom Themes or Flash Skins?

Default tyring the newer firmware

just after posting, i saw that a new firmware came out. I will give that a try and reload all music and see if it helps. I was using a custom theme but no flash skin.

Sorry for the delayed response (due to classses). I updated the fw and reloaded files, and things seem to be alot faster now, so I might of just had corrupted fw on the D2. thanks for the suggestion

By a lot faster, you mean < 1 second track changes? Because it really shouldn't be more than that.

so the changes should be almost instant (very litte delay)? It still has to "think" before it changes but it is not near as long as it was before. Do you use album art and other tags with your flac files?... I think thats what is slowing mine down the most.

The change over should only be about a second, and yes I use album art.

i just converted most of my flac to ogg files, and the D2 runs a lot quicker now. I do have some flac files on the player still and they do load fast (within a second), so I could of just had some unsupported tags/encoding messing it up. Again, thanks for any help/suggestions.
