Cradle Modification to use the USB Connecter

Hey there!
I have posted in an ancient thread oin the rockbox forums and now that i have got a second gigabeat on which i want to experiment with this feature. Chronon made some suggestions in that thread and also posted the Data Sheet of the Cyrix USB Controller. He mentioned that i would have to rewire the controller to make that usb port on the side usable but i have no clue how i would go about doing that. If anyone could help me out here, i have already asked the rb devs on irc but they turned me down as this is more a hw problem and has not so much to do with rb. i have taken my second cradle apart and now am looking at the pcb on which said Controller is to be found but i am completely dumbfounded right now.
