File/Folder limit?

Is there a file or folder limit for the Cowon D2/3? Sometime ago, I read that it had a 3000 song limit regardless of how much you packed on the player.

Thinking of buying this, but I'm not used to touch-screen mp3 players. I'm hoping it's not too cumbersome.

No the limit is 4,000 on the player and 4,000 on the SD card. I believe its just music and maybe vids. I put 10,000 pics on mine and it was fine. Touch screen isn't that big of a deal I like it better most of the time than a regular GUI. The plus of being able to touch a spot on the track timeline to fast forward is really nice. Same with seaching through tracks and artists.

I think it is about to get bumped to 500/5000 limit per a link I saw in another forum. Here it is

Wonder if that's a typo or if we may be seeing a fimware update? If we are I wish they would just max out the file/folder thing and stop adding a little bit here and there.

I just read your post and checked cowon global, they are stating ...
Folder Limit:
1000 folders and 8,000 files (built-in + external)
* Built-in memory: 500 folders and 4,000 files.
* External memory: 500 folders and 4,000 files.

I want to make sure I undertsand this correctly.
Are we talking about 4,000 files per 500 directories? Or 4000 files total?
