Default baldmonkey's build

Compiled Rockbox: Baldmonkey's Build

I currently apply only one patch to this build - because all of the patches which I used to apply are now part of the official builds.

The patch:
- disables the record button to stop accidental pressing
- disables the hardware hold button
- enables the software hold (enable/disable by holding record and pressing power - it only works from the wps)

Even though this build is almost identical to SVN, I'm leaving the site up as I still update it for personal use and it's a lot easier to use the scripts that are already in place to build it for myself. It's not really worth using this build unless your hold button has broken off too!

Happy new year

edit:sorry about downtime, i'm moving servers

I make a slightly modified build for use at home and I figured maybe people here would find it useful, more features (maybe) coming soon.

EDIT (27th Aug 2008): A new build has been added which replaces the hardware hold switch with the software hold function found in the archos player (and various other hardware too). This is because my hold button snapped off on the train the other day and I hate it pausing and unpausing the music with every step I take into work

Patches Included:

FS5697 - bmp resize
FS8668 - experimental gui boost- this patch seems to make the back light stay on at random times
FS8523 - disable WPS updating when the backlight is off

ThunderBox & ThunderBoxAA Themes

Optional ThunderBox & ThunderBoxAA Themes

Don't forget to upload your source code, since your build is GPL.

It is based on latest SVN and has only 2 patches (one slightly modified) and an optional theme.

My coding skills are extremely limited but this build seems to work for me.

edit: added source, patches and build script to baldmonkey.co.uk/rockbox

Is this a patch that rescales the .bmp album art so it looks nice instead of distorted?

I'm pretty new to Rockbox. How do you set this up, what's the process? I assume it works with any theme? I've been trying different themes and getting different responses on how they respond to album art. Currently using ChrisJS but the album art gets distorted. At your site I see you have a few patches so I'm not sure which to use for my needs and how to install.

the patches are in the "resources section".

Read the patch pages and you will see that one requires the other (albumart patch depends on the smooth resize patch.)

The point of pre-compiled builds is not needing to apply the patches manually.

Just extract the full zip onto the root of your mp3 player and it should work.

EDIT: i typed compiling rockbox into google and the first result was http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=1268.405

If you dont understand what the last post says then IMO you are going to have a very hard time trying to compile.

EDIT Wed 09 April: build updated to reflect changes in SVN

it has some kind of bug. When you are listening music and, for example, change volume the backlight won´t turn off.

Funny, I just noticed this today. I will look into it.

edit: whoops it looks like I've got a job in the real world, expect slower updates due to me working 9-5

hopefully the back light staying on issue shouldn't happen anymore.

Ive also added a new variation of my build which has software hold instead of hardware hold. I made this because my hold button broke the other day and so i require an alternative means of putting my e200 on hold.

edit: i lied, the backlight issue is still there... maybe i should test my builds before claiming they are fixed... :s

edit2: okay now the issue is really gone!

Thanks for this, I tried the other builds but they seem to have so much stuff in them that they freeze up and make rockbox unstable. This one is good. I just wanted the bmp resize but I had no idea how to do it myself.
