This is a small program (Not sure how small it is now
) written by onkel_enno over on the Media Monkey Forums. It is a little convoluted (But easy to use now) if you normally use MTP mode but it is the only thing I have found so far that will allow me to rate my songs while using my player and then sync those ratings back into my Music library (And it now also works with Rockbox, 280R, and allows some playlist management)First off you need to be using Media Monkey (MM)... There is a small program called SansaMonkey.zip that you can get at the following link: http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/vie...?p=87455#87455 New version as of May 16, 2007 New version as of May 09, 2007 New VersionS as of June 18, 2007 (280R support plus more) oh and it is now called SansaMonkey ![]() (checking these steps due to new versions) - You must open MM - Put you Sansa into MSC mode - Connect Sansa to your PC - Run Readsansa.exe - Check mark <Import> and <overwrite> boxes - Click the <Read Lil Munsta> button done... (close SansaMonkey and switch back to MTP mode if you wish... Sansa will have to reset the database) Please, if you have issues, go to the original forum post (Above link) and ask there, since the author is a focussed there. morenu, Welcome to ABI, always great to see new members!
![]() Thanks for sharing your program, I personally don’t rate songs, but I have seen the question asked many times here and I know we have many members that will find it useful. Feel free to PM a mod once you have it running real smoothly with your instructions and we’ll make it a sticky.

i just ran into that little program myself yesterday ,and i just wanted to update you ppl here .... funny its sitting in the MM forums for a few months now...
anyway, it seems to have problems with my PP5000.DAT file... :-( i've sent it to the developer to try and debug it... this could be a major breakthrough with track ratings on the sansa... |

Oh my... I am NOT the author of the program and did not intend to act as though I was..
I have no skills in that department unless some basic and pascal programming in high school count. I will go up and edit my first post to make it clear... and thanks for the hello happy to be here.I also am getting an error but have been just blowing through it for now. It seems to be working great for me. I use the ratings mainly because I dump ALL of an artists songs that I have onto the player and rate them as I go... I put one star on the ones I want off the player... so I rate the others since I am doing that anyway. perhaps I'll make a 5 and 4/5 star playlist at some point. lou_weed, please let us know how the debugging goes, I have not sent mine as of yet. |

Love MM, Love my Sansa.
And now I love this program. It gives me one of the features I always wanted. Once I'd applied the latest fw it worked perfectly. Thanks |

The same for me
![]() Was the firmware update really necessary? If someone else notices that it doesn't work with a firmware, please make a backup of the PP5000.DAT and PP5000.HDR before and contact me. Thanks |

I was on 1.02.15A and it read the tracks, but did not fill in the columns correctly so I applied 1.02.18A and all is good.

i just use it for album art conversion for rockbox and last.fm logs .wysiwyg { background-attachment: scroll; background-repeat: repeat; background-position: 0% 0%; background-color: #ffffff; background-image: none; color: #000000; font-family: Verdana, Arial, "LTUnivers 330 BasicLight"; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal } p { margin: 0px; }
and this makes life much easier. kisses & hugs! but this reply box doesn't work too well in opera. |
