not good at delayed gratification, went to frys today and checked prices
on 8 GB and larger but still too expensive compared to the 4GB.
I bought the media reader for 19.95 and have done some simple
testing with it at home with the 4GB micro sdhc.
I copied multiple 500 MB directories over to the card mostly
language lessons. I cant provide any comparison data but
if I was copying files to the smaller micro sd via the sansa
and usb cable it would have to be much slower.
There are a plenty of reviews on amazon about this device
kingston part num. FCR-HS219/1
No problem with my linux system fc8 the cards can be inserted
into the reader and they are automatically mounted and a
nautilus window opens.
The file system is vfat and probably someone could corrupt
the file system by ejecting the card while copying files.
I called kingston tech support and the technician I spoke
with stated that the media reader should work with all
sizes of micro sdhc.
frys was also having a sale on the little usb dongle for microsd
I think for 10 dollars with 1 GB microsd included.
Unfortunately frys was already out of the 4GB cards as I was
prepared to buy another, although a bit smaller than a dvd
I can use dvd's as backup media to free up some disk space
and be reasonably certain everything will fit on the micro sdhc.
