Hi,
I'm looking for some good software to manage how I sync my player with my collection. I want good control over what syncs to my player, so auto / random syncing is no good. Drag and drop works, but is a real pain when I am at the player's capacity and have to delete an appropriate volume of files from the player to be able to copy across the new content. What I'd really like is software that does the following: - Ideally views my collection by folder in a tree structure (but I could also see this optionally working with tags if must). - Has a tick-box by each folder / file that indicates whether that item should be synced or not. A checked box on a folder would indicate that all sub-folders and files beneath it are to be synced. A greyed one would indicate some combination. (Picture the installation options of something like MS Office where you select the components to be installed). - Has a running total of the capacity needed on the player for all of the selected files to be copied across. - A big friendly "sync" button that kicks off a nicely personalised sync process :-) Nice to haves: - Different sync profiles for different players. - An indication of the space required for a particular branch. - An indication of whether a particular file / folder / branch is already synced to the player. Is there any software out there or are there any plug-ins available that does anything like this?? Would be great! |

I think I've just answered my own question.
After some further googling, I delved into Media Monkey a bit deeper and found practically everything I was looking for - v cool! It's under Tools/sync device. Then select device and hit the configure button. |

I'm glad it was just the Clip that I tried that with....it certainly filled it up to capacity nicely, but I didn't agree with alot of the song selections. I'm glad I tried it out though.....and I think I can still tweak it a little and make it work even better. Good thing I didn't try it with the 12gb Fuze though....it would have taken awhile to rectify that situation
