Default videos through winff have no sound on sansa e280!

hi, i recently installed rockbox and whenever I put a video on it through winff, thew sound doesn't come! Then, when I connect my sansa to the comp. and play the video, it works fine!

I know that it is not a problem with my head phones because they work with the music, but not videos!

with all reards

There has been talk about this on IRC. They say it only happens with music paused, but I have not got this issue myself.

could it be the headphone jack in your e200?. Are you plugging in the headphone jack all the way..?. You might try another set of headphones because some jacks are not long enough...(so I've read in the forums)..?

If you start reading from: http://www.rockbox.org/irc/log-20081028#06:59:38 , you will see that is on the other players, but if you read this: http://www.rockbox.org/irc/log-20081028#09:05:17 , it shows that the Sansa did not have it then. I have not tried the newest build, again tho.

sansaguy: no that isnt it, i am sure!

The headphones not only work with the audio, but I tried another set of headphones that also did not work.

Advcomp2019: I read the 1st link, but they are talking about ipods, and, well, I do not know how to stop music on my sansa.

Any help?

Yep, they was, but if you read later on, the iriver h10 had the same issue. To stop the music is in the manual, too. I will say it tho. To stop the music is down or the submenu.

I must be missing something here. If you've tried 2 different sets of headphones and they BOTH don't work then why are you dismissing the jack as a potential problem?

Can you get audio when watching/listening video/music in the official firmware?

Edit: Just had a thought. Could it be possible that when you converted your video's in WinFF that you did the conversion with no sound?

which build do you use and what revision is it?
(to check revision -> Start rockbox - System menu - rockbox info or version (not too sure about the menu names; sansa's not with me)

Thanks for the help guys but the problem is fixed.

All I did was I switched from kugel's build to chrisjs's and it works fine. I am pretty sure that the problem is of kugel's build, might want to fix that kugel

so, once again, thanks for all the help WakDooD, helpme123, sansaguy, and advcomp2019

peace out

it's not kugel's build..something was wrong with your player or Rockbox build. Just to prove this to myself I converted 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' using the latest WinFF (0.43) and kugel's latest build and it played great...both sound and video.

hahaha, i don't think that it can be said that i helped, mostly because you didn't answer my question.

perhaps you see switching to an older, outdated build as a solution, but personally i do not. there is no problem with kugel's current build (update 3) with videos converted by WinFF. there is, however, a problem with his "full" build. an older version of the MP3 on COP patch caused videos with mp3 audio to not play sound (the patch is now fixed and in the svn).

when asking others for help, maybe you should hear them out before discounting their offer...also, try searching the forums for identical questions before posting again (http://www.anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35697)

ps. one more thing, when asking for help try to include your version (and if you're using a custom build) in your post. patches applied to the main build sometimes causes problems.
