Random shuffle of *all* songs

I tried to search the forums but to no awail.. so am I just missing something or doesn't the p2 have the option of shuffling between all the songs on the p2?

Now I can only choose to shuffle either songs from 1 album or 1 artist..
and what I really want is to just mix between all the songs and artists.

Is the only option to make a playlist or did I just miss the obvious?

just select music/songs and play one, press the tap at the left corner and select playmode/shuffle

go to music
then under Now playing will be:
artists
albums
songs( if im correct, my p2 is @ repair centre )

press songs , choose a song and toggle shuffle on

What I do is just pick "Songs", with play mode in "Normal", then pick the first song in the list which are listed in alphabetical order then it will play all my songs from 1 through 1960.

Before I shut the P2 off I note the number I am on then I can start from there when I am ready to resume. I know with this many songs I probably wouldn't realize if a song had played recently or not but I am somewhat OCD in my daily tasks.

I have a question about the shuffle mode. Would it play through all the songs without repeating if you kept it on long enough and will it pick back up on the last played song after an off and on action?
