I recently got a V 2.0,007 refurb C150 from Yugster for $15 and found that it had a problem messing up the display of tags like artist/disc title/song title. I dug around on the web for a while looking for updated firmware or other fix info and ended up here. Unfortunately, no one seems to have the same problem.
Anyway, I found firmware v2.0.008 on the web at the rockbox site here: http://www.rockbox.org/twiki/bin/vie.../SansaC100Port put the c100 in MSC mode and connect to your computer. Copy the rom file into the root directory on the c100. Disconnect from the PC and power up the c100. It will ask if you want to updte firmware, you press the play button (top of the ring) to select yes. It will update for you. I know these are getting old and there isn't much support for them anywhere, but maybe some poor slob with a v1 C100 will stumble into this forum and run across this post and have a better day... Cheers! |

I think you can not upgrade the c100v1 to c100v2 firmware or the other way around just like the other version.
What version of the tags do you have? ID3v1, ID3v2.3, or what? You can find it out with tagging software like MP3Tag. |

I discovered that the C150, with the 2.0.008 firmware is NOT compatible with the default ID3 tag format in mp3tag. The current release of mp3tag (v2.41) defaults to ID3v2.3-UTF-16 but the C150 won't display the tags correctly with that format. I switched mp3tag to use the 8 bit character format in ID3v2.3-ISO-8859-1 and the C150 displays all the tags just fine now.
This is the sort of info that should go into the user manual or onto a spec sheet somewhere... It would probably save Sandisk a lot of support calls and RMAs. |

Yep, you are right, but that bug still rolls into some of the newer Sansas.
