A Few Questions Concerning the 4GB Clip

My son wants an MP3 player and I have been seriously considering the 4GB Clip for Christmas. Since this will be his very first MP3 player I have a few questions that I hope you can answer. I have done some research but I prefer owner/user personal insights.

1. Learning curve for a first time owner/user of an MP3 player: How difficult?

2. He has tons of music that at the moment he has burned to CDs and listens on a portable CD player. Is the software easy to navigate as well as transferring and placing into files/folders? I know he would prefer separating each album to easy access.

3. How is the battery life?

4. Are you pleased with both sound quality and sound volume?
