Default FM Radio Function is missing after the latest firmware update!!
Hey

I just updated the firmware on my Creative Zen Vision:M 30GB. Now the FM radio option is no longer on the main menu. I have searched through the menu configuration to find it, nothing there. I did a bit of research online and found that there has been issues with FM recording with new firmware updates. But my FM radio has gone all together, i can't even listen to the radio anymore, let alone record it!!
What do I do? I no longer have the old firmware because the update gets rid of it when it is loaded. I tried to find some older firmware to download, but can't find an earlier version anywhere. Currently I have version: 1.62.02.

Can someone please help me with my problem?!!

Hello ipodnazi. Welcome. You should not have this problem with the 1.62.02 firmware. What firmware version did you have previously? What I would do is boot into Recovery Mode and select the Reload Firmware option. This will erase the currently installed (and possibly corrupt) firmware and allow for you to connect and reinstall a fresh version of the latest firmware.

Default help me plss...how to back fm radio in my creative..
hillo to all...i have creative zen vision m 30gb..so last week i upgrade the latest firmware in my creative v.1.62.02..after the upgrade completed the FM RECORDING menu in my creative has removed..plss help all members how to back FM RECORDING in my creative zen...thanksss..

Default FM radio restoration problem
Hi guys, i'm having problems on reactivating the FM feature, my last update was 1.30... then i heard about the reactivation of the feature, so i decided to update... so i download 1.62.02... and it is still not there.... do i need to install 1.41 -> 1.51.02 -> 1.60.01 in order to reactivate this features? if so does anyone have a copy of the firmware?

Pls help, thanks

I have a 30gb
Firmware=1.62.02_0.00.23

I've being looking for a solution for over a year!

oh, 30gb.... i can't seem to find a solution, i have tried to contact creative but their answer is just reload firmware, been there done that it didnt restore it >.<

Did you try reloading the firmware by how it was suggested in post 2?

I found the original firmware on pimpmyzen.com
I tried reloading the firmware from the recovery mode.

I got the message erasing firmware
Then Start firmware update Now...

With or without the zen connected to the USB port, the message just disappear and nothing.

Then I rebooted, it always goes back to the recovery mode.

I went to the creative web site to download the latest version of the firmware and guest what, the zen vision:m 30 GB is no longer listed!

So I don't know what to do now.

Any suggestions?

I found the driver on softpedia.
Reinstalled the firmware.
Player is working again.
No FM Radio to be found

If you're going to try and use older firmware, try downloading and using the version here. Make sure to reload the firmware with the ZVM booted into Recovery Mode and connected to the computer. The ZVM 30GBis on Creative's website. Go here and select it from the list.

I am experiencing the same problem. Quite frustrating! I have tried the suggested method but it didn't work. Any ideas? HELP. I'm guessing there is no use contacting creative if all they can come up with is "reload firmware"

Just to confirm what the suggested method is.... you did boot the ZVM into Recovery Mode and selected Reload Firmware and then connected to a computer and installed the latest firmware downloaded from Creative's website?

If you check the menu options, is the FM Radio section unchecked?

Main Screen -> Press the Menu Key (lower right button) -> Default Menu
