Default D2 - ENLARGE TEXT possible?

The text is so small I can not read what song is on or what time it is? Is there anyway to make this larger? It would be great for us old farts.

Also will the D2 work with a 32gb SD card?

TIA,
JJr
16gb D2 Version 2.57 and no problems

Well, you can make the font bold at least: http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showthread.php?t=15957

And yes, a 32GB card will work - as long as you have no more than 4000 audio files on it.

Thanks but I have to say I'm freaking lost ( dont understand) I'm running 2.57 FW will I have to wipe the D2 clean and install the latest firmware and then attempt to install the patch?

I have heard that the 2.57 is very stabil and if its working do not screw with it. I did Dl the fontpatch and put it on my desktop from there I double clicked on it and it opened up a screen on where to install it, I tied to the system and I got somthing like there was no BIN 2 file or not found.

Hopelessly confused.

You don't wipe the D2's memory and you won't lose any data. It's perfectly safe.

Download 2.57 from here: http://www.cowonglobal.com/download/...D2/D2_2.57.zip

Unpack the ZIP file. You will see three folders inside: 0, 1, and 2.
In folder 2 there is D2N_font.bin, the file you need to patch. (If you unpacked it to your C:\ hard drive, the folder will be C:\D2_2.57\2, for example)
Just point D2FontPatch to that folder and press OK - the D2N_font.bin file will be patched.

Then simply transfer that D2N_font.bin file to the root (uppermost folder, i.e. the D2 itself, not any subfolder like "System") of your D2 and restart.

OK did that and the font showed that it installed but everything still looks the same on the screen? Do I install that other D2n_rs file also?

The text where the music names never changed!//

No, you only need to transfer that one file. Did the FontPatcher app pop up a window like, "font upgrade successful"? Did your D2 show an "upgrading font" screen after you restarted it?

I just did the font patch myself, for the heck of it, and it worked fine.

I don't know what you could have done wrong. The procedure is pretty straightforward.. yes, best you patch and transfer the file again. Make sure you get the "success" message from D2FontPatch and the "upgrade" screen on your D2.

Maybe this is easier - here's the patched file for 2.57 as an attachment. Just unpack it and put it on your D2.
Attached Files
File Type: zip D2N_font.zip (578.5 KB, 45 views)

OK tried that and the only difference I can see is that the text is a hair bolder so that must be it huh?

Your probably right its not much better and that is most likly why I missed it when I installed it the first time. I guess I'm just asking too much of the D2.

Again thanks for all the help, I will take the URL down.

The font height will only increase a little, due to firmware limitations, but it's quite a bit wider.

Here's a side by side comparison:

Ok I changed the text to BLACK so its a bit easier to read, also i went to text>settings>2x font size? Is that correct?

For color I went to display>set font color>black>save

What you see in my screenshots is a custom theme I made, since I don't like the original one: http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19708

I like white text on black background the best.

Not sure about the text reader, I never used it.

There are some more font variations here that might be of use to you.

Default D2 2.59 Firmware ( can I bold the text)

Being sort of a old fart I have problems reading text on the D2. When I was running the 2.57 firmware I did somthing that made the text bold which helped a little.

Now that I just updated to the 2.59 firmware I was wondering what can be done to bold the text or anything else that would make it a bit simpler to read. I wish that they could make the text larger somehow

TIA,
JJR
