Buttons' Paint Coming Off?

The paint of the buttons around the touchpad are gone in some areas. I'd seen the paint change a little bit, but today when I looked at it, it was dramatic. The color had changed from grey to dark orange in quite a large area. I don't know how this could've happened because I never dropped it and I've onnly had it for 5-6 months now.

Did this happen to anybody else have this kind of problem?

One more thing, is there anyway to find the faceplates or buttons, because I really need to changed them now.

ive had mine for 8 months and dont have any corrosion on the touchpad material
do you have particularly sweaty hands, and particularly salty sweat?
the acidity and ammount of sweat can influence the ammount and speed of corrosion on the touchpad finish
the only thing to do really is get it replaced by samsung, if it's still under warranty they can probably give you a new one due to that
but i wouldnt know myself

was reported a while back on the black versions mainly, I think your the first to mention it on other colours, just a combination of use and finger acid etc, wearing away the anodisation (?) on what is probably copper.

as for replacements maybe fire a email off to samsung to see if possible to get these.

Don't have any problems with black Z5F 2GB I know have it for 2/3 months.

Had mine since may 05, and yes, the perimeter buttons do turn a copper color on my black Z5.

FYI...I have very dry hands.

I've had the same problem. But I just recently bought a case for it so it's not noticable anymore.

And I doubt that you could get a replacement plate. Since it would be kinda hard to take off.

oh dear, which part does it change colour..the outer button or inner one(touchpad)? i had a case given to me free when i bought the player... it looked ugly but if it is going to protect my player, i will never remove it.

It's on the buttons around the touchpad. If you got a protective case, I suggest you use it.

BTW, my hands aren't that sweaty.

i have that prob aswell thinking of getting it replaced. Would it be possible for it to be replace for a silver one?

I doubt it... But I'd say get a case for them... They do look preety good... Not as good as the unit itself though... =X

It wears off. Just color it with paint or permanent marker, and then buy a case for it.
